Research Interest
I have been always fascinated by the huge impact that microbes have in the environment. Now, as a doctoral student in microbial ecology, I am interested in the biodiversity of bacterial spores in the environment and the different mechanism that bacteria use to survive harsh environmental conditions. We are trying to develop a non-destructive method to identify and isolate bacteria spores from environmental samples. This new method will allow us to explore non-standard models of sporulation.
A long-term goal for my research would be to use this knowledge to find an effective way to apply bio-controls in agriculture.
