Memory and imagination
To a large extent, the social life of human beings is made possible by the capacity of the person to draw on past experiences – their own and those of others – and to imagine, through various mediations different alternatives and future possibilities, alone or collectively. We theorise the processes at the heart of memory and imagination, which we understand to be sociocultural and semiotic. We also study what hinder or facilitate memory and imagination, and their individual and collective consequences – may it be in interactions, for life trajectories, or for social transformation.
