Meet your future (local) employer
10 December 2020
Organiser: Prof. Ted Turlings, University of Neuchâtel
Symposium together with the master students in biology of the University of Neuchâtel.
Venue: online!
Workshop description
The objective of this short workshop is to give you an impression of what skills and competences would be important for you to have if you wish to work for industry or a research institution. There will be presentations by qualified representatives of companies and non-academic institutions. The invited speakers were all students or postdocs at the University of Neuchâtel and therefore are perfect real examples of what it takes to have a successful career within or outside of academia.
The invited speakers will each give a 15-minute presentation in which they introduce themselves and their company (or institution), with an emphasis on what skills they would be looking for in future employees. After each presentation we have reserved 10 minutes for questions and at the end of the presentations we will still have a general discussion.
All that is expected from you is that you actively participate by asking appropriate questions.
