Objectives
Present and discuss recent developments in the field of chloroplasts and mitochondria: including tRNA import, organelle division, dual targeting, assembly of the photosynthetic machinery, organelle gene regulation

(Inter-)national scientists will present their cutting-edge research (Lectures)
Important new papers will be discussed in groups mentored by the scientists (Journal clubs).
Participants will present their own work at a poster session. 3 talks will be selected from the abstracts.
Social activities will provide the opportunity for networking.

Journal clubs:
The papers for the Journal Clubs will be sent for download to all registered participants.
Before the Journal Club, prepare a document for each paper (max 1-2 pages), with the following information:
1) Summary of the paper including : topic, main question/hypothesis, take home messages
2) Your point of view (strong/weak points of the paper)
3) Questions you would like to address

- This course is free for all CUSO MPS and DP-biol PhD students. Please submit the poster abstract by email to: emilie.demarsy@unine.ch, deadline July 15 . Include the email subject: Abstract Organelles.
- Post-docs and advanced researchers are welcome to attend the course as long as places are available. Registration fee: CHF 50 to be paid at the registration desk on the first day
- Maximum 30 participants
