The Institute of statistics is in charge of courses in Master level programs in labor/work psychology, computer science, mathematics. In addition to that, the institute of statistics is in charge of the Master program in statistics. The research interests of the members of the institute include, but are not limited to non-response in survey sampling, spatial sampling, wage inequality, sampling in a continuous universe and gaussian processes. Apart from its fundamental research, the Institute of statistics has a long-term collaboration with the Swiss Federal Statistical Office. The institute sometimes handles mandates from private companies.
