The Centre for Criminological Research (CRRC) is a research unit of the University of Neuchâtel. It aims to bring together researchers from various disciplines (e.g., sociology, law, psychology, social work, neuroscience, geography, spatial planning, and migration) to examine crime issues, including its definition, recording, explanations, prevention, and handling. It takes an interest in deviance, crime, offenders and victims, sanctions, the police, the criminal justice system and criminal legislation — that is, criminology in its broadest sense, with a particular emphasis on the criminological study of all judicial processes, from criminal law procedures to sentencing and correctional practices. The CRRC is also open to the use of all quantitative and qualitative research methods, in addition to those specific to legal science.
