Je m’intéresse aux interactions écologiques guidées par des signaux olfactifs, au sein d’une même espèce ou entre des espèces différentes. Je cherche à comprendre comment les composés volatiles et semi-volatiles produits, transmis et interprétés par les organismes vivants influencent leurs comportements et engendrent des adaptations à différents niveaux. En particulier, je tâche de mettre en avant les mécanismes, les stratégies, les compromis et les coûts nécessaires au partage d’une même ressource, indispensable mais limitée, par plusieurs organismes.
En utilisant un vaste panel d’outils analytiques, nous tentons de comprendre comment les plantes, les insectes et les vertébrés utilisent la communication chimique pour interagir avec les différents membres de leur communauté, que ce soit au sein d’écosystèmes naturels ou agricoles.
Nos divers projets scientifiques mènent régulièrement à des collaborations et des applications dans le domaine des mesures et de l’évaluation des odeurs.
